Learn how to paint a forest and stream inspired by the state of Arkansas. Artist Ashley Krieger is traveling and painting in all 50 U.S. states. Today she takes you to Arkansas to capture a stream in the forest with the autumn colored leaves. While we were in Arkansas we stayed at Hot Springs National Park. We got an RV spot right next to the stream. It was calm and peaceful with a crane who liked to visit. The kids especially liked the obstacle of getting across the stream without getting wet. It wasn't deep or swift. If they fell in, we would laugh, and try again. Then, a huge storm came with flood warnings and the stream became a raging river! I wouldn't let the kids near the water after that. We hunkered down in the RV for a few days and left when the rain wouldn't let up. I'm glad I had the time to enjoy the fall colors, our crane friend, this beautiful stream and capturing what I felt here in this painting. Learn How I Paint a StreamAs mentioned in the video:

Your paintings are beautiful! It’s so hard to paint from life. Do you have any tips? Come down to Texas in the spring to paint the bluebonnets and the rolling hill country.
