Changes to Createful Kids

Well if you're wondering, this is what happened...I thought I had Createful Kids figured out, and I didn't. It's like how I think I got my toddler figured out and then...crazy, he still has me baffled ha ha.
free art lessons for kids
So let me explain. In the fall we ended pottery lessons on the kids channel and then went into Createful Christmas. My kids Christmas videos from last year didn't get many views and I was hoping they would pick up this year. They didn't, so I started to wonder why? I asked around trying to gather info and I learned  that the majority of parents preferred using the adult channel Christmas lessons with their kids.

That's great, but that meant I really needed to rethink Createful Kids. Everything with the kids channel has been growing slowly, yet requires more energy. While my Createful Art Channel is growing faster and is easier to teach.

I get it that most of you don't want the art lesson plans, just the free stuff... I enjoy free things too. This means that Createful Kids doesn't make up for the small amount of views with sales from lesson plans. I'm a realist and if people don't show interest, I stop trying to give them something they don't want. In the beginning this channel struggled when I tried to do art history. People loved the videos when I advertised them but just not enough people search for those videos on Youtube. So I was paying for views, while making nothing in return. So at this point it's like when you a have a class and not enough people show up time after time, the smart thing to do is evolve and do something else that will be successful.

Another thing is that I started a kids drawing course, but really didn't get enough interest to make it worth what it would require in technology and time. You may have noticed the new login on my website, behind the scenes it's complicated and costly to make the login function properly as well as a course.

So I'm sure you can see where this is going. When you are trying to build something, you have to move all the pieces around until you're happy with what is built. I'm still in the moving pieces around stage, trying to figure it out. While unfortunately you're looking at it like what are you trying to build here? Ya...well I don't know what Createful Art is going to look like in the end, but I'm hoping it looks great.

The good news is I'm including art that kids can do also on my Createful Art channel. No lesson plans, just free tutorials that teach kids while they create. Right now we are learning about watercolors, check out our first video and watercolor playlist below.

All subscribers are on my Createful Art subscriber list. This way you will get the weekly free tutorials and whatever updates I have. If you really don't care for these art lessons, it won't hurt my feelings to unsubscribe.

If you want to help support my tutorials and build Createful Art you can share your support here. With the help of supporters most of you enjoyed Createful Christmas this year. It makes a difference, and even if I don't know if Patreon will work out either, it's an opportunity for you to share your support of what I'm trying to do here on Createful Art for you and your family.

Thank you to all those who watch, comment on and share my videos and I'll see you next week for the next tutorial! Meanwhile you can get started learning watercolors with this watercolors for kids playlist below.

I appreciate your absolute honesty concerning the difficulties you had creating a place that you can manage and that your viewers want to want to watch and read about. I am a grandmother who is grand children are older teens and early 20s so I have no little people to do art with. That said I am still interested in reading and viewing how to do art with kids if only to confirm that what I did with my own children was on the right track. Thank you so much for all you are doing! I love Creatful Art! 💕

Thanks for everything that you do. I am very appreciative of what you do for the kids! Shandleigh loves getting the tutorials you give her and we love everything you publish. The kids part of it is what we use, but she will eventually grow up and will be an adult! So, everything is appreciated.

I think she will love doing the projects we do on the Createful Art Channel. Don't be afraid to use the tutorials we do on that channel as all future videos will have beginners in mind. Hopefully some day I can build more of the kids lessons with more success. Thank you for creating with me!
