10/19/2018

Learn how to paint a forest with acrylics inspired by the forests of Maryland. Artist Ashley Krieger is traveling and painting in all 50 U.S. states. Today she takes you to Maryland to capture the trees in the forest. Here you can learn how she paints this scene.

While we were in Maryland we stayed at Little Bennett Regional Park that was situated in the forest just outside of D.C. There is a great network of trails to explore there and we had so much fun taking advantage of that. It was autumn while we were here, but the leaves were just barely turning. So much of the forest is still green. Since I couldn't capture the bright colors of the leaves yet, I decided to capture the sun setting in the forest. It is such a lovely thing to see, even in a relatively dark forest. I hope you get the chance to explore here "Into the Woods."
