How To Draw a Landscape for Kids

2/22/2016

Here is a fun art lesson for kids on how to draw a landscape. This lesson teaches kids to be creative and how to layer using lines while learning concepts such as backgrounds and foregrounds. We also learn the term translucent.  We make this landscape translucent with oils so it looks like its stained glass, and kids love putting it in their windows. This drawing is super fun and needs only a few basic supplies.

I did this art project with my students and they really enjoyed it! I made it a 9 X 6 which was a great suggestion because then they were not so tired after doing it.

Also I am placing them in ziplock galloon size plastic bags to send home. They are still rather oily.

Very fun art project! We were learning about landscapes in reading class. So it was perfect.

Love so many of your projects!

I'm so glad your class had fun with this art project. I love the ziplock back idea, ours were oily for a long time too.

Take Care!
