In this art lesson kids learn how to paint a really simple mountain landscape with pine trees. I make this simple to teach and simple to learn. First I read the lesson plan or for my kids they are old enough to read it. In the lesson plan kids learn about value, contrast, and how to create the illusion of space. Then they use what they learned with an art project. I make it easy for you and your kids/students by giving you a video tutorial that gives, step by step, instructions for this watercolor art project. I always leave room for kids to be creative and express themselves. I hope you enjoy this art lesson!
step 1: download & print the lesson plan
step 2: gather art supplies
The supply list is in the lesson plan. I always try to keep the supplies simple. If you want to know what supplies I always have on hand you can check them out here.
step 3: read lesson & watch video tutorial
I usually let the kids read the lesson and then I ask questions about what they learned. The concepts are simple to grasp and then reinforced by the art project below. Then we create the project while we watch how in the video below. Feel free to pause the video after each step until your student completes the step. Hope you enjoy this video. If you enjoyed this art project please share. Thank you for watching!
