In this art lesson kids learn how to paint a really simple mountain landscape with pine trees. I make this simple to teach and simple to learn. I just love summer. The smells, the warmth, the pretty colors and one of my favorite things to do, planning and executing my garden for the year. This means I will use my art skills to plant seeds, bushes, trees, fruits, and veggies, all to make my eyes and tummy happy. I don't stop there, I make other art for my garden like these Mandala decorated rocks in this art tutorial. They are so easy to make and they just add a fun twist of bohemian to my garden decor. I also love to draw little creatures on my rocks. It's just too much fun to look at. 

For this art project I gather my family around our picnic table and give them some simple steps on how to create rock art and then I let them free. I will share these steps with you in the video below. It's amazing what kids can create when they have the freedom execute what comes to their mind. I always create along side my kids and if I see them getting a little frustrated, I just remind them that it's all about practicing our shapes and it's just a rock. Keep trying and the better you get at execution!
